Boards For Boarders
B4B is a FFSP organization chartered with giving all kids a chance to have their very own skateboard which they normally could not afford. We do this through donations of old skateboards that are refurbished or donations of new skateboards and equipment. B4B is committed to providing equipment and youth mentoring.
Build Character Through Building Boards
The Why
Although FFSP has a focus on keeping our current skate park operational and safe, as well as the continued pursuit of a much needed skate park expansion, we felt that we could have even more impact by giving directly back to our local youth. We decided this would be in the form of a skateboard program that would deliver boards to those youth who would otherwise not be able to have a board. This would allow these kids to enjoy a healthy, active and engaging lifestyle that will build character and develop bonds that will last a lifetime.
The How
B4B is an all volunteer program and we can only do this with the help of our community. We take any used skateboards and then we completely refurbish these boards so they can be delivered to our local youth. We take each board and strip , sand and paint each one. Then the boards are equipped with new deck traction, trucks and wheels so they are as good and safe as a brand new board and ready to be cherished by a lucky recipient. Your donations make this possible. Whether it is an old board you have laying around that we can re-purpose or a cash donation so we can complete the skateboard build we can not do this without a giving community.
The Promise CARD
For this board I promise!
To say we give out skateboards to local youth who otherwise could not have a board is true. But what is not true is that these boards are given totally free as they only go to those kids who are willing to sign up to a promise. Every single skateboard comes with a Promise Card and although the promise is three simple items they are very important to our program. Respect Yourself, Respect Others, and Respect our Environment & Community. It’s that simple!
Donate Used Skateboards or Skate Equipment?
We would love to take anything skate related off your hands for our program. You would be surprised how much goes to waste that we can repurpose for B4B. So you got old boards, helmets, pads ,etc we would be glad to take them off your hands and put them to good use. Your contribution is so very much appreciated, The FFSP Board

We here at B4B are always looking for kids that would be a good candidate for receiving a B4B skateboard. Although we really wish we were able to give every single kid a skateboard regardless of need, unfortunately we have limited resources so we like to ensure B4B recipients are in line with our organizations mission and goals. We do appreciate and encourage candidate recommendations for kids that meet our organizations mission.
We are looking for kids who are:
- Nassau County resident - Maintain passing grades & good standing in school - Not normally be able to afford a skateboard - Will pledge the B4B Promise Please tell us a little bit about the them and why you feel they would be a good candidate.
