Friends of Fernandina Skate Park is a non-profit organization aimed at promoting healthy physical outdoor activity, developing bonds and encouraging self-esteem through the expansion of our skate park into a safe, challenging and inclusive park. Through FFSP’s Boards for Boarders (B4B) program we are investing in our youth and by providing skateboards that they would not normally be able to get to help encourage a healthy, active and engaging lifestyle that will build character and develop bonds that will last a lifetime.
Our vision is to build a facility that will meet the diverse needs of our community. This park would support the needs of all wheeled sports enthusiast including skate boarders, scooters, skates, in-line, and adaptive skaters.
The proposed facility will be a safe, family friendly site and world class caliber skate park that will meet the needs of Nassau County, as well as, attract wheeled sports enthusiast from around the country and potentially host major skate competitions in the future.
There are too many benefits to list in one place. In addition to our B4B program supporting our local youth, there are the social benefits of providing a facility for young people to pursue an athletic activity that they love. There are public health benefits to having a safe place for young people to develop active lifestyle.
Skate jams and contest can be fun and instrumental in bringing the community together.
With its ocean view our location can hands down be one of the best skate parks on the east coast. Sure to attract skaters and families from all over to enjoy Fernandina and what it has to offer.
Saturday November 2nd from 1pm to 6pm at Poe Pinson Skate Park
Join us for the 2nd annual Right Whale Festival Skate Competition.
There is a division for everyone from Beginner to the Best of the Best.
Our Skatepark center will be the place for our skateboarding community to hang out with confidence that someone will be there to make sure they are taken care of by providing services that meet the skateboarding community’s needs.
Our organization is dedicated to empowering communities by providing resources, education, and support to those in need. We believe that everyone deserves access to a better life, and we work tirelessly to make that a reality. Through our programs and partnerships, we strive to create a more equitable and just society for all. Join us in our mission to make a difference!

B4B is a FFSP organization chartered with giving all kids a chance to have their very own skateboard which they normally could not afford. We do this through donations of old skateboards that are refurbished or donations of new skateboards and equipment. B4B is fully committed to providing equipment and youth mentoring in our community. Additionally, our model empowers skateboarders to participate in community service as a donor, volunteer or mentor.
We dedicate our B4B program to Adam, a young man who left us too soon. He loved to ride and did so every day. So we here at FFSP want to ensure his legacy is remembered and that all kids have the chance to love to ride like Adam.
We dedicate our Helms Helmets program to Collin Helms, a young man who left us too soon. With a passion for both skateboarding and Baseball we here at FFSP want to ensure number 21 is remembered and that all kids have the chance to skate safe and have fun.
Want to help us make our vision a reality. We greatly appreciate any donation you are willing to make no matter how small or big.
We would love to see you at the park. Come for a skate and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow action sports enthusiast.
